Brief of the project :Parabolic trough collector system of size 32 square meter is installed for generating steam. The generated steam is used for curing turmeric Rhizomes. In a day the system generates 136 kg of steam saving around 50 kg of wood.
Payback : 4 year
Savings : The System saves around INR 400 per day.
Customer Feed back / Remarks : Turmeric is a seasonal crop which is harvested closer to the summer season. This makes it ideal for deploying CST system. The Principal scientist Dr. Jayashree has won NASI-ICAR award for innovation and research on farm implements for this project.
